samrom30.rom is SAM Coupé ROM 3.0 (32 KB), the last official ROM released by Miles Gordon
Technology plc, written by Dr Andy Wright. It is the file ROM30 from the archive
SamCoupeROMs.zip published by World of SAM (https://www.worldofsam.org/node/955), unmodified
(SHA-1 d390f0be420dfb12b1e54a4f528b5055d7d97e2a; PEEK 15 = 30).

Permission
----------
On 16 April 2008 Andy Wright gave this permission, as recorded by World of SAM:

    "I hereby allow all my SAM Coupé titles (including ROMs) and associated manuals to be
    freely (re)distributed."

The archive's ReadMe says it was "released with kind permission from the ROM author,
Dr Andy Wright", and the SimCoupé emulator distributes the same ROM images on that basis
(its ReadMe thanks "Dr Andy Wright - Permission to distribute the SAM ROMs"). The ROM's
source code has since been published by Simon Owen at https://github.com/simonowen/samrom.

The ROM's own start-up screen carries "© 1990 MILES GORDON TECHNOLOGY plc"; MGT went into
liquidation in 1990. The ROM is distributed here on the strength of its author's permission
above, as World of SAM and SimCoupé distribute it.

SAMDOS
------
SAMDOS (Bruce Gordon, MGT) is NOT included. World of SAM's copyright register lists MGT
without a recorded permission, so it is not treated as redistributable. The emulator does not
need it: SAM disks normally carry their own DOS, which the ROM's BOOT command loads from the
disk.
