Base64 and encoding converter

Convert text to and from Base64, Base64URL, hex, binary, decimal bytes, percent-encoding, HTML entities, and Unicode escapes — with a byte inspector and file support.

How to use it

Type on either side: the text and its encoding stay in sync. Choose the format and, for byte-level formats, the character set (UTF-8, UTF-16 LE/BE, or Latin-1) used to turn text into bytes. Options appear for the chosen format — MIME line-wrapping at 76 characters for Base64, separators and case for hex, and the escape style for Unicode escapes.

Open the byte inspector to see every character with its offset, bytes, code point, and UTF-8 sequence length; invalid sequences are highlighted in red, and control characters are named.

Files & data URIs turns any file (up to 25 MB) into a data URI, plain or wrapped Base64, or a hex dump, and turns pasted Base64 or a data URI back into a downloadable file. File types are recognised from their signatures, and images are previewed.

Sharing

Share link copies a URL that opens this tool exactly as you have it. Hand-written links work too: Convert ?text=…&fmt=hex&cs=utf-8 (fmt: base64, hex, and the other encodings in the picker). The file tab has nothing to share — files stay on your machine. For example ?text=Hello%20%F0%9F%91%8B&fmt=hex.

Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type leaves this page.
