Amiga games and demos
Original games, demos, and test programs for classic AmigaOS and AmigaOS 4.1, built and debugged with Amiga DevBench.
This is the collection of programs I have written with Amiga DevBench: demos, games, and tools that compile to classic AmigaOS m68k executables and link against the DevBench bridge library, so every one of them can be inspected and tweaked live from the host.
What is in it
-
Demos — boing ball, starfield, plasma, bouncing ball, an AGA 3D demo, and a sound-effects player.
-
Games — Dot Chase, Stakattack, Orb Hunter, Bullion Dash, Nova Defense, Orbital Patrol, Pea Shooter Blast, Frank the Frog, Rock Blaster, Sky Knights, Ace Pilot, Lunar Rider, Uranus Lander, Jump Quest, Hubert, and more.
-
AmigaOS 4.1 (PPC) ports of my 3DO games — Planet Chomp, Rolling Steel (both rendered through software Mesa), and Spectral Keep. Each also builds for classic 68k (020+, RTG or AGA) with a software cel engine and real Paula sound.
-
Tools and tests — system and memory monitors, a disk benchmark, Game of Life, ARexx and shell-proxy tests, and a launcher.
All titles are original; a screening rule checks every pull request for commercial trademarks.
How it is built
Each program is plain C with a Makefile that links libbridge.a from the parent
amiga_mcp repository, using the -noixemul and -m68020 flags. Programs call
ab_init() / ab_poll() / ab_cleanup() so DevBench can see their variables and logs.
The repository is designed to live as a submodule of amiga_mcp at examples/.
Status
Growing as I write more. Several of the games started as afternoon experiments and are deliberately left rough — they are examples as much as games. Some of the same games also run on the 3DO through 3do-dev.
