An Amiga in your browser — vAmiga compiled to WebAssembly, booting the free AROS Kickstart or your own ROM. Boot your own ADF disks on an A500 or an A1200.

How to use it

Press Power on and drop a disk image on the screen. The emulator is about 10 MB to download the first time; the browser keeps it after that. Click the screen to give the Amiga the keyboard and mouse; Esc gives the mouse back.

Your own disks

Drop an ADF, ADZ, DMS or zipped disk image on the screen, or use Insert disk…. It boots on the machine chosen under Your own disks: an A500 (OCS, 68000, 512 KB chip and 512 KB slow RAM), which suits most classic games and demos, or an A1200. Disks are never uploaded.

Kickstart

The free AROS Kickstart replacement boots most system-friendly software. Some games and demos expect Commodore’s own ROM: if you have one (from Amiga Forever, or a dump of your own machine), choose Choose my ROM file…. It stays in this browser, shared with the Amiga dev bench, and Forget my ROM removes it.

Fast boot runs at full speed after a reset until the floppy stops loading. Keys = joystick 2 turns the cursor keys and Space into a joystick (the emulator restarts).

Software to load

The Software panel has two parts:

  • Library — programs this site can share: open-source and public-domain releases, freeware whose author allows it to be passed on, and this site’s own examples. Each shows its licence, why it may be shared, and where it came from; Copy link gives a link (?lib=<id>) that opens this page and loads it.

  • Open URL / archive.org — paste a link to a file, or an archive.org item (its URL or identifier). For an archive.org item the panel lists the files the Amiga can open, with the item’s licence as the uploader set it. Sites that allow it load straight into the emulator; archive.org doesn’t let other sites read its files, so for those you get a download link and drop the file onto the emulator.

There are no links to "complete ROM set" archives: most are copies of commercial software that is still under copyright, whatever the upload’s licence field says. Files you own you can always load — drop them onto the emulator or paste a link.
