Meal timing planner

List the dishes with their prep, cook and rest steps and oven temperatures, say when to serve, and get a timeline of when to start each step — with oven-clash hints and preheat reminders — then run it live with alarms, notifications and the screen kept on. Plans are saved in your browser, with JSON export and import.

How to use it

How to use it

Plan — give the meal a name and a serve at time. Start from an example (roast chicken, Thanksgiving, a weeknight pasta) or add your own dishes.

Dishes — each dish is a list of steps in order, each with minutes and, if it is in the oven, the oven temperature (leave it empty otherwise). The last step of every dish ends at serving time; Ready … min early makes a dish finish sooner and wait (mash kept warm, a roast’s rest).

Timeline — every step’s start time in order, with a preheat reminder 15 minutes before the oven is first needed at each temperature. When two dishes want one oven at temperatures more than 15 °C apart at the same time, a note says when and suggests what to do (set Ovens to 2 if you have two). Print prints the timeline; Add to calendar downloads an .ics file with an alert for each step — the dependable way to be reminded on a locked phone.

Live — press Start cooking. The big clock counts down to the next step, running steps show their time left, and as each step starts the page chimes, shows a notification (turn it on), vibrates where it can, and keeps the screen on. Running late? +5 min moves serving and every step with it. Live timers survive a reload.

Save keeps the plan in this browser under its name (Saved plans… opens it again); Export JSON downloads the plan and your saved plans, and Import JSON brings them back on another device. Share link puts the plan itself in the link (live timers and saved plans stay private).

Limits

  • Steps within a dish run one after another; the planner does not model you being busy (two steps from different dishes can start at the same minute) or how much fits in the oven.

  • Alarms need the page open and the phone awake; browsers throttle background pages.

  • Times are yours: for roasting times see the sous-vide and roasting tool, and judge doneness with a thermometer.
