This site is built by gitwebsite, a small Rust application I wrote to manage it. Content is written in AsciiDoc, organised by an information architecture of overlapping areas, and published as a static site to GitHub Pages.

What it does

  • Builds the site from AsciiDoc — articles, projects with updates, pages, apps, and in-browser code playgrounds.

  • Keeps a registry of where every piece of work came from, and a list of ideas to write up.

  • Manages images and video, including media hosted on SmugMug.

  • Drives everything from one core through four front ends: a command line, a REST API, an MCP server (so an AI assistant can draft and publish posts), and a desktop app.
